Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith, the renowned Ivorian sprinter, has been appointed Vice President of the Ivorian Athletics Federation.Her key responsibilities will include tracking and supporting Ivorian athletes living abroad, with the goal of strengthening Côte d’Ivoire’s representation in international competitions.

As Vice President, Ta Lou-Smith will focus on identifying and guiding talented athletes residing outside of Côte d’Ivoire, helping them integrate into the national team. This move is expected to boost the country’s competitiveness on the global athletics stage.

Ta Lou-Smith, a two-time World Championships medalist and African record holder in the 100m, expressed her gratitude for the appointment, stating, “Je suis heureuse d’annoncer que j’ai été nommée vice-présidente de la Fédération ivoirienne d’athlétisme, chargée du repérage et de l’orientation des athlètes ivoiriens vivant à l’étranger vers l’équipe nationale”.

With her vast experience and international recognition, Ta Lou-Smith is poised to make a significant impact on Ivorian athletics, inspiring a new generation of athletes and contributing to the country’s sporting success .
