SUPREME COURT VERDICT: PROSPERITY CUP ORGANISERS CONGRATULATE GOV DOUYE DIRI, DEPUTY

… SAYS JUDGEMENT IS A VICTORY FOR BAYELSA

On behalf of all sports-loving Bayelsans, footballers, and youths, the Central Organizing Committee of the Bayelsa Governors Football Tournament, Prosperity Cup, warmly congratulates His Excellency, Governor Douye Diri, and His Excellency, Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, on their final victory at the Supreme Court.

In a statement on Friday by Mr Ono K. Akpe, the Director General of the Prosperity Cup, on behalf of the central organizating committee, said the victory was long-awaited, as the Governor’s success at the November 16, 2023 poll was loud and clear and cannot be altered. He added that Governor Douye Diri has already won the hearts of Bayelsans, hence their undiluted love and support for him, which was translated at the polls, and also upheld by both the Tribunal and Appeal Courts, and was not surprised by the judgment of the Supreme Court.

The statement stressed that the victory is for Bayelsans, adding that the people are confident and comfortable with their leader, whose efforts, especially in the area of sports, have elevated their personal status and dreams. He said, “This landmark victory is a testament to the leadership and vision of Governor Diri and Deputy Governor Ewhrudjakpo, and we are honored to have them as patrons of the Prosperity Cup.”

“The Prosperity Cup is more than just a football tournament; it’s a symbol of unity, progress, and prosperity for Bayelsa State.”

“Under the leadership of Governor Diri and Deputy Governor Ewhrudjakpo, we are confident that the state will continue to thrive and reach new heights.”

“We celebrate this victory with the Governor and Deputy Governor, knowing that their dedication to the development of Bayelsa State will continue to inspire and empower our youths.”

“We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Bayelsa State Government to promote football development and youth empowerment in the state.”

Once again, congratulations to Governor Diri and Deputy Governor Ewhrudjakpo on this well-deserved victory!
