The Super Eagles of Nigeria dominated Uganda 3-1 in their final Group C match at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 in Morocco, showcasing their superiority.
Uganda pulled one back in the 75th minute through Rogers Mato, who coolly chipped the ball over Francis Uzoho.
The victory secured Nigeria’s top spot in Group C with a perfect nine points. Coach Eric Chelle made eight changes to the lineup, giving opportunities to players like Ryan Alebiosu and Tochukwu Nnadi. Victor Osimhen, who captained the side, played a crucial role in Nigeria’s attack, although he didn’t score.
As Nigeria progresses in AFCON 2025, they’ll face the third-placed team in Group F in the round of 16 on January 5. Likely opponents include Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, or Mozambique
