    Super Eagles Defender Benjamin Tanimu Donates To Grassroots Football in Edo state

    In a couple of weeks under 15 Football clubs in the state will be engaged by the Edo state Football Association in a Football tournament to be held across the three senatorial districts of the state.

    The Football carnival in honour of Super Eagles Defender Benjamin Tanimu who cut his teeth playing Grassroots Football on the streets of Benin City will be organised by the Edo state Football Association.

    Speaking to the media in Benin City at the weekend Chairman Edo FA, Fred Newton Erhunmwunse stated that the former Eagles wing Fc and Bendel insurance defence stalwart decided to give back to the society were he was discovered. He disclose that the former Paragon Sports Academy ( Delight) youngster is very eager to help engage the youths of Edo state with this football tourney adding that the ex Ihefu SC of Tanzania star is impressed with the development of Football in the state by the Edo state Football Association since 2023 when this present Board came in.

    ” I want to inform us that in the next few days we shall begin the process of another big event in Edo state for our youth clubs, this time for under 15, former Bendel Insurance strong man Benjamin Tanimu has donated a trophy to Edo FA to engage under 15 boys , the event will take place across the three senatorial districts of the state,

    ” Benjamin came through the grassroots and he was a huge success here in Benin City with Bendel insurance, he is impressed with our programs and want to contribute to what we have done since 2023, we are grateful to him and we promise to deliver as usual, Erhunmwunse posited.

    According to the Crawley Town Fc of England defender, a lot awaits the winners, trophies, medals, top scorer award, most valuable player award, Best midfielder, best Goalkeeper, best defender and other tournament souvenirs.

    Benjamin Tanimu becomes the second Super Eagles player after Osayi Samuel to donate to Grassroots Football in the state with the Edo state Football Association as organisers.

    Meanwhile the Edo FA boss has ask the various youth teams to begin preparation for the big tournament as registration will commence soonest.
