    Sports Minister meets Secretaries General of Sports Federations

    Sports Minister meets Secretaries General of Sports Federations

    …. Insists on Improvement of Efficient Threshold

    The Honourable Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh held a meeting with Secretaries General of the various National Sports Federations on Thursday, 3rd of October 2024 ,at the Media Center of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.

    At the meeting, the Minister reminded the Secretaries General that they are first all, civil servants who represent the Federal Ministry of Sports Development in the various National Sports Federations.To this end, he said they must ensure that the activities of the Federations should serve the best interest of the Ministry and the nation.

    In other to galvanize the various teams for maximum productivity, the Minister stated that some requests for funding for competitions by some Federations no matter how well intentioned do not serve the goal and vision of the ministry and was therefore not in syc with the national interest.

    He reminded the Secretaries General that it is their duty as civil servants to guide the Sports Ministry on the relevant and crucial competitions to be funded.
    This way, the Sports Ministry and Federations can channel funds appropriately to build the right momentum for major competitions that serve and uplift the nation.

    Senator Owan Enoh called on the Secretaries General to furnish his office with a memo that encapsulates the challenges they encounter in the line of duty with suggestions on how to resolve them.

    The Permanent secretary,Ministry of Sports Development, Mrs Tinuke Watti,Directors,senior staff of the Federal Ministry of Sports Development, and all Secretaries of National Sports Federations were in attendance.
