    Spires 5-Aside Tourney: Chekas Utd, All Saints In Final Showdown In Ajegunle

    Spires 5-Aside Tourney: Chekas Utd All Saints In Final Showdown In Ajegunle

    The excitement has hit fever pitch as the grand-finale of the Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer Divisional Tournament takes center stage in Ajegunle. The eight teams championship, which converged the best of grassroots talent across Badagry division, will climax this Sunday.

    What awaits football fans and spectators in the final is yet another titanic battle between two highly offensive sides, Chekas United FC and last season’s state runner-up All Saints football club. Chekas Utd secured their passage in the final following a 2-0 win against Joint FC on penalty shootout after regulation time ended 4 goals apiece in Wednesday’s semi-finals. It’s was however a walk in the park for All Saints FC as they decimated Emaljus football club 10-2.

    There’s still plenty to play for in the losers final as Joint FC and Emaljus football club will lock-horns for the third spot to the state championship.

    The final Matchday which kicks-off at 12 noon at Hon. lukmon Olumoh’s Sports Arena, Awodi-Ora, Ajegunle will also present a huge payday for the top three teams. The champion will receive a prize money of N500,000, while the first and second runners up will pocket the sum of N300,000 and N100,000, respectively.

    As the build-up to tomorrow’s finale intensifies. The initiator of the tournament, Dr. Bankole Allibay has urged football fans across the Badagry division to turn up in their numbers for another show-stopping event.

    In his words: ” The Spires 5-Aside is beyond just playing football, it’s a project that’s meant to impact the host communities in both human and economic advancements.”

    ” The Spires team is driven by our vision to create a football ecosystem that provides real value in communities across Lago.”. Allibay added.

    Sixteen teams across the five divisions in Lagos will compete in the second edition of the Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer state championship later in the year.
