    Rofiat, Gabriel, Bunmi, others win 2025 SIAO Squash Championship

    Rofiat Abdulazeez and Gabriel Olufunmilayo at the weekend, continued their dominance in Nigeria Squash scene by winning the 2nd edition of the Professional Squash Association SIAO Squash championship held at the Lagos Country Club which ended at the weekend.

    Playing in the women category, Rofiat Abdulazeez defeated junior upcoming star, Mostural Durosinlorun in the final 3-0 ( 11-5, 11-8, 11-3 ) to claim victory while Men’s top seed and National champion beat Shuaib Giwa 3-0 ( 11-2, 11-2, 11-6 ) to remain unbeaten in the game.The veteran club invitational category title went to Mr. Clement Efakpokire (Ikoyi club) who defeated Dr. Femi Bankole ( Yellow dot) 3-0 (11-4,11-5, 11-6 ) to win while Mr. Bunmi Apata (Lagos Country Club ), fought the battle of his life to win the invitational category by beating Mr Clement Efakpokire ( Ikoyi club) 3-2, ( 7-11, 11-9, 10-12, 12-10, 11-4 ) in the final.

    The super veteran club division was won by Sanni Kabir (Yellowdot) that beat Funmi Bankole ( Lagos Country Club ), 3-0 (11-9,11-9,12-0) to emerge champion.

    Chairman of the Squash Section of the country club, Mr Sesan Asani, expressed his gratitude to the sponsors and the Nigeria Squash Federation ( NSF ) for their support.
    President of the Nigeria Squash Federation, Mr. Sunday Wilson Egberipou, who was at the grand finale also commended the participants for making the championship worthwhile.

    He assured of more championship before the year 2025 runs out.
