Philanthropist and CEO WALBOG Motors, Olawale Ogunkeyede has pledged his  support to the reigning Japanese Featherweight boxing champion, Ridwan Oyekola, popularly known as ‘Scorpion’, who is presently in the country to seek support towards his forthcoming bout against Keisuke Matsumoto on August 30 in Japan.

Ogunkeyede who is also the sponsor of the money spinning grassroots annual WalBog Motors Football Tournament that is being organized among youths teams in Oyo State disclosed his interest while chatting with the sporting press from his business trip to Canada to support Scorpion when he returned to the country.

The business mogul recalled how he had assisted the boxer in the past while he was preparing for the World Boxing Federation (WBF) belt that he won against the Argentines’ Lucas Montessino saying that his encounter with Scorpion in December 2020 attracted his love for the game of boxing and he will always be ready to lend his support.

‘Scorpion’ will be challenging for the Japan Title Belt and WBO Asia Title Belt in the much anticipated bout slated for Tokyo on the 30th of August against a Japan born boxer who has a sterling boxing record of eight wins from eight professional fights.

It will be recalled that ‘Scorpion’ during a press conference recently held in Ibadan as part of his preparation for the coming fight in the Asian country, has stated that he greatly relies on the support from Nigerians and governments at both state and national level to come out victorious.
