With barely two weeks to go before the second leg of the MTN CHAMPS Continental Relays, registrations have surpassed 1,100, exceeding expectations.

The event, scheduled to take place from April 9 to 12 at the Yabatech Sports Complex and UNILAG Sports Complex in Lagos, has attracted a large number of athletes from various categories.

As at March 24, 1,111 athletes had registered, submitting 2,821 event entries. The breakdown of registered athletes by category is as follows:

    – Cadets: 174
    – Youth: 388
    – Juniors: 270
    – Seniors: 279

The registration deadline is set for April 2, and organizers anticipate a further influx of entries before the cutoff date.

The MTN CHAMPS Continental Relays in Lagos are expected to surpass the numbers seen in the first leg of Season 3, held in Benin, Edo State, which received 4,371 event entries from 2,056 athletes.

It is mandatory for at least one parent or legal guardian of each participating athlete in the Cadet, Youth, and Junior categories to sign the Participation Agreement Form, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.
