Real Madrid Make Juventus Star Target If Fail To Capture Mbappe

According to a report by Defensa Central, Dusan Vlahovic can join Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. The Merengues have already sealed a deal worth €70 million for the 23-year-old Juventus striker. And they will proceed with the move for him if they fail to land Kylian Mbappe.

Dusan Vlahovic has been one of the best strikers in Serie A in the last 30 months. And he joined Juventus in January 2022 on the back of a stunning 12-month run with Fiorentina. But he failed to stamp his authority in his first full season with the Bianconeri, as they blew hot and cold this past campaign.

The 23-year-old managed a sub-par tally of 14 goals and four assists in 42 appearances in all competitions. And Vlahovic’s position as the first-choice striker came under threat throughout the season. But his stock remains high, with several high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid, keen on signing him.

Vlahovic has been on Real Madrid’s radar for a long time. And reports last month also suggested intermediaries had offered the Spanish club the chance to sign him this summer. And the Serbian international has become a contingency option for Real Madrid if they fail to secure Kylian Mbappe’s services.

The Frenchman is a priority target for Real Madrid this summer, with widespread reports linking them with him. But the latest updates have pointed to Los Blancos having an agreement with the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner for the 2024 summer transfer window. And they have their priorities set if they do not land Mbappe this summer.

Vlahovic will become the top target for Real Madrid, although it will affect a 2024 move for Mbappe. Nonetheless, Real Madrid and Juventus have already agreed to a deal worth €70 million for the Serb. That is the base fee that the Serie A giants paid to Fiorentina when they signed the 23-year-old 18 months ago.

Despite what the report suggests, a summer move for Vlahovic seems likely. With widespread reports suggesting Real Madrid will not sign anyone apart from Mbappe this summer, the claims by Defensa Central do not add up. It will be interesting to see if a deal worth €70 million sees the light of day.
