The General Manager of Rangers International FC, Amobi Ezeaku, has lauded the support of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah towards the growth and development of the club, describing it as instrumental to their progress this season.

Ezeaku made the remarks on Sunday while addressing supporters after Rangers’ 2–1 victory over Enyimba FC in an Oriental Derby clash.

He disclosed that renovation works at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium will commence immediately after the conclusion of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League season.

According to him, the state government has already concluded plans for the refurbishment of the stadium as part of preparations for the 23rd edition of the National Sports Festival, tagged Coal City Games 2026.

Ezeaku praised Governor Mbah for his direct involvement in supporting the club, particularly in funding team logistics and kits.

“As you go home, continue to believe in the vision of His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. He has done a lot for our club,” Ezeaku said.

“He has single-handedly financed the production of jerseys—one for each player in every match we have played this season. His support has been tremendous.”

The Rangers’ boss expressed optimism about the club’s future, noting that the planned stadium upgrade would further boost their performance and fan experience.

“This is just the beginning for our club. Once the league season is over, the renovation of the stadium will begin. Everything is already in place,” he added.

Meanwhile, preparations for the National Sports Festival have gathered momentum, with ongoing road construction and infrastructural development across Enugu ahead of the September event.
