The Delta State President of Private Sector Participants ( PSP) in Waste Management, Comrade Lucky Adjekuko has described the State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori as Environment Friendly Governor.

Speaking on the one year anniversary of the Governor, Comrade Adjekuko commended the state Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for making funds available for the opening up of Canals, drainages and rivers all over the State, saying that he is Environment Friendly Governor.

“The Governor has done so well since he was sworn in one year ago. He has touched all sectors in the state. Is it on the environment? The floods control? Or infrastructural development? The Governor has doled out a lot of money for floods control in the state. He has embarked on the construction of massive drainages in Delta State. The other day, the Governor was at the Warri Township Stadium to assess the flood situation there and also to see for himself how far the contractor has gone with the construction of the Underground drainages in that area”, he said.

The Delta State PSP President added that; “In the area of waste collection and disposal, he has done well also, he has equally done well in encouraging private participants in waste management. When I say he has done well in waste management, he has encouraged the private participants in waste management, he has encouraged them to carry out effectively in keeping the state clean, that is, in terms of sanitation and in the area of environmental task force, he has done well to see they pilot the affairs well. He has put in place
Environmental Marshals in the major cities of Warri, Effurun, Ughelli, Asaba, Sapele, Udu, Agbor, Abraka and Kwale. On a daily basis, you can see the environmental Marshals, going out to enlighten the public on the appropriate way to dispose their waste”.

While using the medium to advise Deltans to key into the Governor’s MORE agenda, he implored residents of the State to dispose their waste legally, saying that; “For a Governor that has doled so much amount of money to keep our Environment Clean and to make our drainages to flow freely, he deserved to be encouraged. I want to appeal to Deltans to encourage this government to keep the state clean always”.

He lauded the Governor for the #78 Billion flyovers being carried out by construction giant Julius Berger Nigeria Plc in Warri and Effurun and other roads being done across the state, noting that the Governor has kept to his electoral promises to the people and Deltans should expect More from the Governor in the years ahead.

He stated that the Campus of the University of Science And Technology, Ozoro being established in Orerokpe, the Headquarters of Okpe Local Government Area of the State will lead to massive development of the area and environs in the near future.

According to the State PSP President; “We have the twin cities of Warri and Effurun, with the establishment of that institution in Orerokpe, with time, we will have, the triplet cities, because the development from Orerokpe will spread to Effurun and Warri and going to be good for all of us. I can beat my chest to rate the Governor very high in his one year in office and I am convinced, that the Governor will do more in the years ahead”.

“As we are celebrating the first one year anniversary of the Governor, my message to Deltans is for us to encourage the government, in any areas we can. Let me use the area of waste management as an example; If the Governor is encouraging the PSP, by saying, don’t dispose your waste the wrong way, always dispose your waste the right way, we should all encourage him by disposing our waste the right way. Then, those projects that are ongoing in various communities across the state, we should encourage the contractors and government for quick delivery of those projects. All hands must be on deck to support this government to deliver these fantastic jobs in Delta State for the realization of the MORE agenda”, he stated.
