.. As Movers FC, Chief Street FC Record Big Wins

‎Aperetia FC of Imiringi continued their impressive run in the Season 8 of Nigeria’s biggest grassroots football spectacle, the Bayelsa Governor’s Football Tournament, christened the Prosperity Cup.Aperetia FC beat Abureni FC by two goals to one at the Otuabagi centre to keep their dreams of winning the tournament for the first time, alive. Damini Joshua put Abureni FC in front on 60 minutes from a beautiful finish, Aperetia responded immediately from Newman Happiness’ finish to restore parity. When it seems the encounter was going to stretch into penalty shootout, ‎Dan Godson of Aperetia FC made it 2-1 in the 90th minute to send the travelling Imiringi fans into wide jubilation, having defeated Citiboi FC one nil in their previous fixture.In the second game at the Otuabagi centre, Orashi FC edged out Bayelsa State College of Health Technology, BYCOTECH FC two nil to secure qualification into the next round of the tournament.

‎Emeyal 1 FC at the Otuasega centre overpowered Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG (Joyful Assembly) FC 8-7 on penalties after a two-all draw in regulation time to secure a place in the next round of the competition.

‎Kolo Creek United in the last match of the day beat Metros FC 7-6 on penalties after a one-all draw to secure a slot in the next phase of the competition. Oladapo Daniel put Metros FC ahead 15 minutes into the game but the Kolo Creek side replied on 56 minutes from Azibanator Young’s strike to drag the tie into penalty shootout.

‎Former Ogbia Champions, Movers FC of Otuasega at the Kolo centre humbled Abagi FC by three goals to nil. Forward, Precious Omonibo’s brace on 27 and 77 minutes as well as last year’s highest goalscorer, Elton Mina’s goal in the 90th minute, was all Movers FC needed to progress into the next round of the showpiece.

‎Chief Street FC in the second game at the Kolo centre, inspired by their star boy, “MC Bighead ” of Royal FM eased out Ewoi FC by three goals to one. Goals from Great Iwuanyanwu; Honest Bamson and Prosper Friday on 17; 47; 63 minutes respectively and Pius Sambo’s consolation goal on 79 minute defined the tie.

‎Elsewhere at the Imiringi centre, Agholo United of Kolo humbled Elebele FC by four goals to two. Godslove Onyansi gave Agholo United the lead on 11 minutes, Godgift Emmanuel doubled the lead just before the halftime mark, having taken full control of the game.

‎Godgift Emmanuel on 50 minutes compounded the woes of Elebele FC to make it three nil. Jude Agbebiri and Julius Olulu’s goals on 57 and 80th minutes reduced the deficit for Elebele FC to give the Elebele side a lifeline but Peacebe Azikwe in added time made it four to seal the victory for Agholo United.

‎Federal University Otuoke, FUO Kings in the second game at the Imiringi centre beat hard-fighting Oruma FC by four goals to three. Okpukpu’s late brace on 84 and 90th minute was not enough to see Oruma FC into the next phase of the competition.

‎Two matches will take place on Wednesday, March 18th, 2026 at the Otuokpoti centre as Diamond FC confronts Okodi FC by 12.00 noon while Edi 1 FC will battle Hummels Jnr FC at 3.00pm as Ogbia LGA fixtures wind down this weekend.

‎The Prosperity Cup preliminary train will move to Ekeremor and Southern Ijaw Local Government Areas this weekend.
