    President Weah Congratulates Osimhen For Breaking His Record

    Following his remarkable achievement in the Italian Serie A this season, Liberia President George Opong Weah has congratulated Nigeria Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

    Just before the emergence of Osimhen, Weah held the record of the African top scorer in Italy with 46 goals but the Nigeria international rewrote history this season by scoring 47 goals to eclipse the record.

    Through his social media handle on Tuesday, Weah who played for AC Milan in his active greeted the Nigerians and said his record is to motivate the upcoming players and not to intimidate them.

    “My heartfelt congratulations to you, Victor Osimhen! I am very glad that you have accomplished a major milestone in your football career, after scoring your 47th goal in the Italian Serie A league.

    “The records that I set were meant not as a challenge, but as a motivation to you and other African Players.

    We have the best of talents. You have to remain humble, tenacious and focused. Don’t be distracted”, he said.
