    President Tinubu Appoints Former Edo Deputy Governor Shaibu As DG Nigerian Institute of Sports.

    President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a new list of appointees into chairmen and executive directors positions of federal government institutes, agencies and commissions.

    Topping the list of appointees, which was publicized by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga via his X official handle @aonanuga1956, is the appointment of Senator Ken Nnamani from Enugu State, to serve as
    Chairman, Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

    The President also approved the appointment of the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu – Edo as the Director-General, Nigerian Institute of Sports.

    Also, the approval of former Senate President, Pius Anyim Pius from Ebonyi State, to serve as the Chairman, National Merit Award Committee.

    Others are Omobolanle Akinyemi Obe – Ondo, Director-General, National Senior Citizens Centre, Abuja, Dr. Segun Aina – Osun, Director-General, Academic Staff College of Nigeria and Mr. Ayodele Olufemi – Kogi, Executive Director (Monitoring and Implementation), Nigeria–São Tomé Joint Development Authority.

    Also approved to serve as the Executive Director (Finance and Administration), Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC) is Babaranti Ayandayo Rasheed – Osun, Hon. (Dr.) Asabe Vilita Bashir – Borno
    Director-General, National Centre for Women Development, Sen. Jalo Zarami – Yobe and Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission.

    Also on the list of approval are Hon. Dr. Joseph Haruna Kigbu – Nasarawa
    Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission, Momoh Jibril – Kogi, Board Member, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN).

    The appointees’ list is expected to pass through screening at the Nigerian Senate to enhance their confirmation.
