    Premium Trust Bank Abuja Half Marathon Offers $5,000 Prize Money, Says Nilayo Sports

    The forthcoming Premium Trust Bank Abuja International Marathon race will make a statement of greatness in the organisation of a world class marathon event and also with the prize money, says Oluseyi Johnson, the Project Manager of Nilayo Sports Management Limited.

    According to Totorinews, Johnson represented the Managing Director of the Sports agency, Bukola Olopade, disclosed this during the press conference on Wednesday to herald the Half marathon proudly brought by Premium Trust Bank, which has been stated to take place on Saturday 20th April, 2024 in the beautiful capital city of Nigeria.

    “Nilayo Sports Management Limited intend to showcase Premium Trust Bank International Half Marathon race with a touch of international standard in all ramifications,” Johnson told journalist in Abuja on Wednesday.

    ‘The aesthetics, the roads, the city of power, the optics of this city; Abuja marathon should be one of the best celebrated race in the world because of the uniqueness of the city to the people of Nigeria.

    “This is the city of power in Nigeria, this is our own city. We started in Lagos like a joke, but now it is one of the biggest event in Africa, but now our dream is to make Abuja bigger than anything we have done and people will come to Abuja the way 5000, 6000 foreigners come every year to Lagos to come and watch the race.

    “Once the foundation is good, i know the building will be very good and solid, this is the foundation and on our own part, our expertise at Nilayo Sports Management Limited will do everything to make it a big success with your support and your co-operation that’s why I said to you it’s our baby, now we are pregnant. We are giving birth on 20th of April .

    Speaking further, Johnson revealed that there are exciting prize money for the winners and also for Nigerians who will finish excellently well.

    “Half marathon and 10km marathon races always attracts the best of the best marathoners and Abuja event will not be an excemption.

    “We have $5,000.00 for the winners in both men and women categories, it will trickle down to the sixth position.

    Aside from this, Nilayo Sports Management Limited started something very unique nine years ago when we started giving prize gifts to Nigerian runners who finished at a respectable positions.

    “The race starts 7am, God willing, we will have a clean field and a clean weather because the weather forecast says it is going to be good, but we wish and pray God gives us a good race, because the weather immunity depends on what we need to do.

    “We are looking at where the best runners in the world would break world record in Abuja.

    “I can tell you sure that the Premium Trust Bank International Abuja Half Marathon event is the game changer for marathoners that will be coming from all over the world.

    It is also a win – win situation for the people of Abuja in so many aspects. So let’s keep a date with 20th April, 2024, he concluded.
