    Police Machine Targets Back-to-Back Titles at Kada Unity Cup Final in Benin City

    Benin City, the Edo state capital is agog ahead of the closing event of the 2nd Edition of Kada Unity Cup tournament slated for Friday 14th February 2025.

    According to the chairman of the Edo state Football Association, Fred Newton Erhunmwunse, the tournament will climax on Friday in Benin City with Supersports Nigeria expected to deliver a comprehensive coverage of the third place match and the final Match from 9am.

    ” I want to thank his Excellency chief Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion for this great initiative that has seen the military and Para- Military teams in Edo state take to the field for the Kada unity Cup, the turn out has been massive and the sponsorship is great, there are a lot to come during the final matches on Friday as Supersport Nigeria will be on ground to cover the activities and bring it to millions of viewers in Nigeria, Africa and beyond, the Edo FA boss stated.

    Ten Teams entered the competition for the second year running with only four set to do battle on Friday for the third place and final match

    The third place final has pitched Department of security service ( DSS) against pre tournament favourites Nigeria Airforce by 9am, while defending champions Nigeria Police Force will face rival Nigeria security and civil defence corp( NSCDC) in the main final slated for 11am at the chief Lucky igbinedion Sports centre, oti Resort center Etete, Benin City.

    The Kada unity cup tournament, the second in the series is proudly sponsored by the two term former Executive Governor of Edo state chief Lucky Nosakhare Igbinedion and organise by the Edo state Football Association.

    The football carnival aimed at fostering Peace and Unity amongst the various outfit in Edo state, kicked off February 7th 2025 in Benin City with ten teams competing for honours

    Meanwhile, stakeholders of the game in the state have commended the organising body of the tournament, Edo state Football Association for keeping everyone busy with football activities in the state, they praise the Fred Newton Erhunmwunse led Edo FA board for bringing back the vibes and task them not to relent.

    Expected to grace the closing ceremony on Friday, are the chairman Edo state sports Commission, Hon Desmond Amadin Enabulele, Executive Directors at the commission, Hon Frank ilaboya, Baldwin Bazuaye( mon) Mrs Sabina chikere, others include Prof Darlington obaseki CMD UBTH, the various commanders of the participating teams, and many others

    There are a lot to be won by the various teams on Friday, such as the MVP, top scorer award, best Goalkeeper, medals, trophies, winning prizes and many other sourviners courtesy of the tournament sponsors.
