The Padel Federation of Nigeria (PFN) has been officially launched to govern, regulate, promote, and develop padel, widely regarded as one of the fastest growing sport in the world.

The establishment of the Federation provides a formal and structured framework to drive the rapid growth of the sport nationwide. The PFN will oversee national competitions, coordinate coach and referee development, implement youth and grassroots programs, and manage Nigeria’s participation in continental and global padel engagements.

The leadership of the Federation is headed by Babajimi Adegoke Benson as President, with Alain Semaan serving as Vice President.

The PFN will work in close collaboration with Magic Sports Limited, leveraging the organization’s experience in facility development, coaching systems, and grassroots programming to accelerate the sport’s expansion across the country.

Speaking on the significance of the launch, President Babajimi Adegoke Benson expressed optimism about the future of padel in Nigeria.

“We are thrilled to introduce a formal structure for padel in Nigeria. As the fastest-growing sport globally, padel offers enormous opportunities for participation, talent discovery, and international success. Our mission is to grow grassroots participation, raise competitive standards, and create clear pathways for Nigerian players to compete at regional and global levels.”

Vice President Alain Semaan emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships and nationwide collaboration in building a sustainable ecosystem for the sport.

“Together with the Federation, clubs, partners, and communities, we will expand access to world-class facilities, quality coaching, and structured competition opportunities across Nigeria. This is about creating a strong foundation that empowers players at every level and positions Nigeria prominently within the global padel community.”

The mandate of the Federation includes establishing national rules and regulations in alignment with international padel standards, organizing national tournaments and leagues, implementing structured talent-identification initiatives, developing certification and education programs for coaches and officials, and forging partnerships with government institutions, private sector stakeholders, and international bodies to expand facilities and grassroots initiatives.

The Federation will also represent Nigeria in continental and global padel forums and competitions.
With its official launch, the Padel Federation of Nigeria signals a new era for the sport in the country, positioning Nigeria to harness the growing global momentum of padel while building a vibrant, inclusive, and competitive national community.

The Federation invites clubs, coaches, players, sponsors, and stakeholders nationwide to join in shaping the future of padel in Nigeria.
