Victor Osimhen scored a brace and contributed to another goal as Galatasaray secured back-to-back wins in the Champions League with a comfortable victory over Bodo/Glimt. The Nigerian forward was instrumental in the win, scoring two first-half goals and setting up Yunus Akgun for the third after the break.
Osimhen’s double helped Galatasaray claim their second successive win in the competition for the first time since December 2012. He became the first Galatasaray player to score in seven consecutive European matches, breaking the record set by Burak Yilmaz.
The win lifted Galatasaray to 14th in the table from 21st, while Bodo/Glimt remain in the elimination places with two points from earlier draws. Despite a late consolation goal from substitute Andreas Helmersen, the Norwegian champions were unable to mount a comeback.
Osimhen’s performance not only marked him as a key player for Galatasaray but also etched his name into the club’s record books. He became the first player in Galatasaray’s history to score in seven consecutive European matches and scored the club’s fastest-ever goal in the UEFA Champions League.
The Super Eagles star’s contributions will be crucial as Galatasaray aims to advance in the competition. With this win, Galatasaray looks to build momentum in the Champions League, and Osimhen’s form will be closely watched in the upcoming matches.
