Onazi, Others Hail Okaka Scouting Tournament

    BY RAYMOND NWADUBA

Former Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi has showered encomium on the organisers of the ongoing Okaka FC Scouting Tournament at the Lagos Business School field at Ajah, Lagos State.

The program which has been on since Saturday November 23 and has now reached the crescendo, will end November 28.

No fewer than 8 well selected top sides have been battling it out in the 5-day program, with international scouts from Romania led by renowned, Bogdan Costicea amongst other European countries scouts in attendance and Onazi said he’s really impressed with what he has seen so far.

“Kudos to the organisers of this tournament, our friend Okaka FC.

“I’m really impressed with what I have seen so far. The quality of teams and football has been topnotch.

“At least we have seen some good players who have the ability to make it in Europe”, Onazi noted.

The tournament will be held at least thrice every year according to Dr. Madueke Arinze, the convener and sponsor of the program who also is the Founder/CEO of Okaka FC.

Arinze, who is a medical Doctor by profession, is a passionate and avid lover of football, that invests his money in the beautiful game.

“Our intention is to have this at least thrice yearly.

“The biggest constraint has been funding but the desire to keep empowering these young ones keeps us going.

“Hopefully we pray we are able to have some of them use this platform to launch their career and travel abroad. This will be our biggest joy”, he concluded.
