The Women Coordinator of The GSMists, Afolabi Olabisi OLABAT, from Ward 12 in Ibadan Southwest Local Government, has lauded the successful conduct of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State Congress, describing it as a clear demonstration of internal democracy and party unity.

The congress, held today at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan, brought together party leaders, stakeholders, and delegates from all 33 local government areas of Oyo State.

OLABAT, a youth stakeholder and female political advocate who participated in the process, commended the exercise as peaceful, transparent, and well-organized.

She congratulated Prince Dayo Ogungbenro, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, Hon. Michael Ogunsina, and Prince Oluyinka Tella on their emergence as State Chairman, Vice Chairman, PRO, and Assistant PRO of the party, respectively.

She also extended felicitations to all newly elected and returning members of the State Executive Committee, noting that their victory reflected loyalty, commitment, and service to the PDP.

OLABAT particularly praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his purposeful and stabilizing leadership, stressing that his presence, alongside other national PDP officers, added immense value to the congress.

Looking ahead, she urged the new executives to build on past successes and consolidate unity as Oyo PDP prepares for the 2027 general elections. According to her, with collective effort and dedication, the party is well-positioned to achieve resounding victories at the polls.

Reaffirming her joy at witnessing democracy in action, OLABAT described the congress as a shining example of the PDP’s strength and cohesion in Oyo State.
