Edo State Commissioner for Arts, Culture & Creative Economy, Hon. Chris Ewere Okaeben has commiserated with Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa on the demise of his mother, Madam Esther Imaguomwanruo Idahosa (Nee Enabulele).

Madam Idahosa passed on 8th April, 2026 at the age of 97.

Hon. Okaeben described Madam Idahosa’s passing as painful, but expressed joy that it was an end to a dignified era, considering the impactful life she lived and her positive influence on her community.

In a statement made available to newsmen by his media officer, Mr. Osaretin ERO, on Wednesday, Commissioner Okaeben commiserated with the Deputy Governor, his siblings and the entire Enabulele and Idahosa families over the passing of their matriarch.

The Commissioner described the late Madam Idahosa as a dedicated wife, mother and resourceful community leader, who contributed immensely to the growth of Ovia South-West community in the area of women mobilisation and empowerment.

According to Okaeben, “the good deeds of the late mama Idahosa overtly reflected in the qualities of her children, notably in her unassuming son and deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, whom he said has always exhibited virtues of loyalty, self respect and humility.

The Commissioner prayed God to repose mama’s soul in His bosom and grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

“On behalf of my family, the staff of the Ministry and stakeholders, I condole with my brother, the Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, his siblings and the entire Enabulele and Idahosa families of Ovia South-West on the passing of their mother of inestimable value and quintessential community leader.

“Evidently, mama lived a good life and left legacies of selfless service, diligence and loyalty. I urge my brother, His Excellency, the Deputy Governor and the entire family to be consoled by mama’s exemplary and impactful life.

“History will continue to be kind to mama for her contributions to women’s mobilisation and emancipation in all
