Olawale Ogunkeyede, a philanthropist and the CEO of WALBOG Motors, has promised to keep helping young people in Oyo State through sports, while reiterating the importance and benefits of sports to Nigeria.

The auto dealer made that call while playing host to the former World Boxing Federation (WBF) Champion, Ridwan ‘Scorpion’ Oyekola, in his office during the weekend and pledging his support to the boxer.

According to Walbog Boss, sport is an area that should not be downplayed as it has the capacity to make the country greater, enrich the youth and improve businesses across the country citing Ridwan Scorpion’s case as a good example of how a sport can transform young ones from grass to grace.

“I am passionate about grassroots football and boxing; I have always been a sportsman myself. Sport is an advantage to us in this state and the nation and I am reiterating that it is the future of our youth. Go anywhere in the world; sports has become a huge business,” he said.

Ogunkeyede who used to be the sponsor of the money-spinning grassroots annual WalBog Motors Football Tournament that is being organized among youth teams in Oyo State further stressed that sports can help combat crimes and increase youth engagement in activities that boost national growth and development.

Oyekola, who had been in the Asian country of Japan for almost two years in his remark, described Ogunkeyede as one of the spirited individuals that had positively contributed to his success story in his boxing journey.
