    NYG2024: BPAN Reward Outstanding Pugilists

    NYG2024: BPAN Reward Outstanding Pugilists

    It was all smiles for some young pugilists as the boxing Promoters Association Of Nigeria (BPAN) kept to its earlier promise by rewarding the most outstanding boxers at the 2024 National Sports Festival in Asaba with funds to support their education and other vocational training programs.

    The cheque presentation was made by BPAN’s executives led by its president Hon. Omonlei Yakubu Imadu CEO Yucateco boxing promotions, as well as the body’s vice president Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Waheed, the CEO of D’Lad Boxing Promotions, at the finale of the maiden Lagos state boxing championship held at the Bishop Aggey Senior Secondary School In Mushin.

    The sum of 250,000 Naira each was presented to the Best Female Boxer and Best Male Boxer from Asaba 2024 sports Festival, as part BPAN’s commitment to supporting young athletes’ educational and career pursuits.

    Agboola Oyindamola of Lagos State, who delivered an impressive performance in the 40kg female category at the Games in Asaba, recieved the award for the best female boxer.
    While Bolarinwa Michael, also from Lagos State, bagged the award for Best Male Boxer, after an exceptional bout against Abia State’s Adenle Farouk, a fiercely contested match that underscored his skill and dedication to the sport.

    BPAN’s president Omonlei Yakubu Imadu said the initiative is to encourage young and talented boxers to take their education seriously while focusing on boxing.

    ” this is our way of supporting this young talents to also stay in school while they pursue boxing as a career part, the funds is also meant to assist those who are into one vocational training or the other and we hope to do more”

    According to Imadu, the boxing Promoters Association Of Nigeria (BPAN) has lined us several programs to develop every level of both professional and amateur boxing in the country, and more will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
