Former Delta state Football Association, DFA, chairman, Hon. Kenneth Nwaomucha has congratulated the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau on his new role as the President of the West Africa Football Union, WAFU B.
Gasua who is fast emulating the excellent step of past NFF presidents is now president of the WAFU B comprises Nigeria, Niger Republic, Benin Republic, Ghana, Togo and Ivory coast.
Gusau’s elevation to the WAFU B presidency follows the resignation of Ghana’s Kurt Okraku, who stepped down to focus on his expanded duties on the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Council.
Nwaomucha a former Flash Flamingos fc hitman described Gusau as a visionary leader and administrator who is calm, focused with a listening ear.
“Alhaji Gusau truly deserved this position as he is a visionary leader that understood Africa football. I believe he will get to the highest level of CAF administrative structure to take Africa football to compete favourable with other continents”.
He expressed confidence that Gusau’s tenure will bring about greater unity, innovation, and progress within WAFU Zone B, pledging full support from Delta state, Nigerians and West Africa as he embarks on this new leadership role.
