NPFL 2024/25 MD 3: Rangers Int’l Grind Out 1-0 Victory Over Resolute Bayelsa Utd Side, At the Cathedral

Reigning Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions, Rangers Int’l FC, recovered from poor finishing in the first half, and a missed a penalty in the second half to edge Bayelsa United FC of Yenagoa, 1-0 in a rearranged Day-3 fixture of the 2024/25 season, played on Thursday in Enugu.
Isaac Saviour rescued the day for the NPFL Champions, when he fired the Flying Antelopes in front, from close range in the 75th minute, four minutes after Chidozie Okorie failed to score from the spot.
With the 3 points on offer in their kitty, Rangers hopped 7 places, and are now 7th in the NPFL table, with seven (7) points; five (5) massive points adrift of table topping Remo Stars of Ikenne, after just four rounds of fixtures.
Remo Stars with a perfect record of four wins in as many games, sit at the summit of the log, with 12 points; 2 points clear of 2nd placed Rivers United FC who are unbeaten this season and are on ten (10) points; while record nine-time NPFL Champions, Enyimba FC of Aba are 3rd, on nine (9) points, gannered from three wins, and a loss to Rivers United FC in Port Harcourt.
