    NOC Congratulates NBBF For D’Tigress’ Olympics Qualification

    The Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has congratulated the President of Nigeria Basketball Federation and the players of the D’Tigresses on their exceptional performance and incredible achievement! Qualification for the 2024 Paris Games.
    In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of NOC, Tony Nezieanya, it describes their dedication, hard work and and passion for the game as truly inspiring to witness.

    “You have showcased unparalleled skills, teamwork, and resilience throughout the tournament, earning this well-deserved victory.
    “Your commitment to representing Nigeria with pride and executing each game with precision has made our nation proud.

    “Each player has displayed outstanding athleticism, talent, and sportsmanship, exemplifying the true spirit of basketball. You have proven that with determination and perseverance, no challenge is too great to overcome.

    The NOC further extended it’s heartfelt congratulations to President of NBBF, Musa Kida for his unwavering support and encouragement to the team noting that his leadership and belief in the abilities of the players have undoubtedly played a crucial role in their success.

    This victory is a testament to your collective efforts, unity, and unwavering belief in yourselves. You have not only made your families proud but the entire nation as well.
    Your triumphs on the court have united us all and given us a reason to celebrate.

    The statement further noted that as the team bask in the glory of the victory, they should know that their achievements have inspired a generation of young athletes and fans alike, noting that the triumph be a stepping stone towards even greater success in future tournaments.

    “Once again, congratulations to the President and players of the D’Tigresses. You have made history and left an indelible mark on the world of basketball.
    “Your passion, dedication, and talent have brought immense pride to Nigeria. Continue to soar and may your journey be filled with many more victories”, the statement said.

    Meanwhile, former NBA star, player and member of the NBBF, Olumide Oyedeji, has explained that Nigeria’s victory was propelled by the National team’s defeat of Senegal in their group qualifying match held in Belgium.
    The group comprised the USA, Belgium and Senegal.
    The fact was also reconfirmed by the Vice President of NBBF, Babs Ogunade, who vowed the team would do all within its powers to have a strong showing at the Olympic Games in Paris.
