Nigerian born Pro- Wrestling Africa Heavy Weight title contender, Ugochukwu Christian Obi popularly known as ‘Eagle De Great Nail’ has cried out to government and the international community to save him and his family from elimination by some hired assassins and criminal.gangs who after killing about ten members of his community have vowed to sniff life out of him and his immediate family.

He alleged that his trouble started sometimes last year when there was a communal crisis in his village, Umunobe, Ogbunka in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The crisis which divided the community into two camps, according to him was caused by leadership struggles and the mismanagement of the community funds which some of them insisted must be transparent but some people saw him as a threat and vowed to eliminate him for standing for the truth.
According to him, those behind his ordeal have engaged the services of some marauding Fulani herdsmen and assassins to eliminate his entire household and that sometimes in February, 2024, a section of his community was attacked by assailants and hoodlums who burnt down about 25 houses, kidnapped some people, killed community and youth leaders with many young girls either raped or abducted and up till now their whereabout  are unknown.

He noted that his escape was miraculous as he went to visit a friend in the nearby town of Owerre Ezukala where he was convinced by his host to pass the night with him, only for him to hear about the sad news the following morning.

Obi stated that information available to him after the attack by eye witnesses indicates that the arsonists came looking for him in his family compound, ransacked the whole place and when they could not find him, left a note that they’ll come back to finish him anytime he’s found within the vicinity of the village or neighbouring communities.

Eagle De Great Nail’ who has wrestled all over Nigeria including Benin Republic, Togo, Cameroon and Liberia lamented that since the attack, he has not been able to locate his wife three children and some members of his family whom he learnt are in an Internally Displaced People ( IDP) camp.

He further explained that inorder to escape extra judicial killings that is ongoing in his community by the criminal gangs, non state actors and marauding Fulani herdsmen, a friend of his, helped him to travel to Belgium where he hope to continue his wrestling career.

The talented mats man who says that Jimmy Palm, A.K.A De African Dream, Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan are his role models appealed to the Nigerian and Belgian Governments as well as the international community to come to his aide and ensure that his life is not wasted as the killings in his community has continued unabated.
