Victor Osimhen has been crowned Sportsman of the Year at the 2025 GQ Türkiye Men of the Year Awards, a testament to his incredible performance at Galatasaray.
The Nigerian striker scored 37 goals and provided seven assists in 41 matches last season, leading the club to the league title and Turkish Cup triumph.
Osimhen’s impressive form continued this season, with 11 goals in 14 matches, helping Galatasaray retain top spot in the Super Lig.
He expressed gratitude to GQ Türkiye and the Galatasaray community, saying, “I want to say a big thank you to GQ. “Can’t forget my Galatasaray family”. This means so much to me and my family. I appreciate everyone who has supported me up to this hour. I will continue to do my best for my family, for Galatasaray, for the fans all over the world”.
This award marks a historic milestone for Osimhen, becoming the first Nigerian to win the GQ Türkiye Sportsman of the Year award. He’s only the third footballer in a decade to receive this honor, following Wesley Sneijder and Mauro Icardi.
