Nigerian duo, Victor Boniface and Gift Orban are among the five players nominated for the Ebony Shoe (Best Player of African Origin) in the Belgian Pro League award.

Boniface, 22, has scored eight goals and provided seven assists in 33 league appearances for Union Saint Gilloise this season.

KAA Gent’s Orban has registered 11 goals and recorded two assists in 12 outings for the Buffalos.

Orban moved to Gent from the Norwegian second-division club, Staebek in January.

The two players will battle the Genk trio, Joseph Paintsil, Mike Tresor and Bilal El Khannouss for the award.

The likes of Daniel Amokachi, Victor Ikpeba, Celestine Babayaro, Godwin Okpara and Paul Onuachu are Nigerian players, who have won the award in the past.
