The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) has officially unveiled its 14-player squad set to represent the nation at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier. The tournament will serve as a crucial step on the road to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, and Nigeria is ready to make a bold statement on the continental stage.

Leading the squad is Agboya Peculiar, who will captain the side, she will be supported by a dynamic mix of seasoned players and promising young talents, reflecting the Federation’s commitment to growth and competitiveness in women’s cricket.

Notably, players such as Lucky Piety, renowned for her all-round capabilities, Victory Igbinedion, Salome Sunday, and Kehinde Amusa, consistent performer, will be key figures in the team’s campaign.

Speaking about the announcement, NCF President Dr Uyi Akpata expressed confidence in the team’s ability to deliver exceptional performances, stating, “This squad represents the future of women’s cricket in Nigeria. Their talent and resilience reflect our development strategy, and we are optimistic about their prospects at the Qualifier.”

The tournament promises to be a thrilling contest among Africa’s top cricketing nations, with Nigeria aiming to secure a spot in the next stage of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup pathway.
The Female YellowGreens will look to capitalize on their recent progress and inspire a new generation of female cricketers across the country, as they prepare to open their campaign on 31st August against Sierra Leone, followed by a high-profile clash against Namibia on 1st September, and wrap up their group fixtures against Zimbabwe on 3rd September. These matches will be crucial for Nigeria’s qualification hopes, and the team is determined to make a strong impression
