The Nigeria Customs Service’s Zonal Headquarters Zone D in Bauchi has organized a sports and fitness exercise to promote work-life balance among its personnel. This initiative aligns with the directive of Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, who emphasizes the importance of physical and mental well-being for officers and men of the service.

The well-attended event, held on 10 September 2025 at the Zonal Headquarters Sports Complex, commenced at 1600 hours and was led by the Zonal Coordinator, Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) Musa Binga. Officers from the Zonal Headquarters, Bauchi/Gombe Command, Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone D, and the Customs Police Unit (CPU) actively participated in the exercise. During the event, ACG Binga underscored the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between work responsibilities and personal well-being.

“Work-life balance is essential for long-term effectiveness and job satisfaction. We also believe that a healthy body fuels a healthy mind, which ultimately leads to better performance at work,” he stated.

He further directed all Area Commands across Zone D to participate in the initiative and organise similar activities to enhance their personnel’s physical and mental well-being.

The exercise featured various physical activities designed to improve fitness levels, foster camaraderie, and create an atmosphere of relaxation for officers. Participants appreciated the Zonal Headquarters for championing such an initiative, describing it as a welcome development that will boost morale and productivity.
