The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has budgeted over fourteen billion naira for expenditure next year.
The total sum, N14,494,469,293.00 only was approved by the NFF Congress during it’s 79th Annual General Assembly in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Sunday.
“The Congress approved the Nigeria Football Federation’s 2024 Budget proposal of the sum of N14,494,469,293.00 (Fourteen Billion, Four Hundred and Ninety-Four Million, Four Hundred and Sixty-Nine Thousand and Two Hundred and Ninety-Three Naira) only,” the federation said in a press statement.
However details of the budget breakdown was not made public.
The federation also adopted the change of Nigeria Professional Football League’s name to Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.
The congress was conspicuously silent over the fate of Super Falcons Coach, Randy Waldrum whose contract with the federation ended in August after he led the team to the Round 16 of the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation has approved the change of name for the country’s topflight football league.
The decision to change the name was ratified at the 79th NFF Annual General Assembly (AGA) in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Sunday.
According to the communique released after the AGA, the approval to change the NPFL name from the Nigeria Professional Football League to the Nigeria Premier Football League was one of the decisions taken at the congress.
It will be recalled that the NFF had earlier informed the NPL board that only the NFF Congress has the power to change the name when the newly inaugurated NPL board launched a new logo and new name for the league.
