Newcastle Also In Race To Sign Inter’s Dumfries

Newcastle United are ready to join the race to sign Dutch international wingback Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan this summer.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who name the Tyneside club as one of the Dutchman’s main suitors.

Dumfries looks to be one of the main candidates to leave Inter this summer. However, according to the Gazzetta, Inter have no intention of selling striker Lautaro Martinez this summer.

The Nerazzurri have warned off the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur and made clear the Argentine isn’t for sale.

However, there could still be a big sale on the way. According to the Gazzetta, Dumfries is one of the main candidates in this respect.

The Nerazzurri had been valuing the 27-year-old former PSV man at €60 million after the World Cup. This valuation of Dumfries has dropped significantly, however.

The likes of Chelsea and Man United have already shown an interest in bringing the Dutchman to the Premier League.

However, according to the Gazzetta they are not the only clubs in the English top flight keen on his signature. The newspaper report that Newcastle are also registering an interest in the wingback.

Dumfries joined Inter from PSV in the summer of 2021.
