The Senate has confirmed the appointment of a new Board for the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), tasking them with consolidating ongoing reforms in the telecommunications sector and expanding digital access across the country.

The newly confirmed Board members include:

Chief Idris Ibikunle Olorunnimbe as Chairman,

Senator Ramoil Olalekan Mustafa,

Engr. Ikechukwu Ugwuegede,

Princess Oristserenwe Emiko,

Barr. Christopher Sandy Okorie,

and

Hajiya Maryam Bayi.

The President expects the Board to provide bold, transparent, and accountable leadership, focusing on strengthening regulatory independence, improving consumer protection, and accelerating broadband expansion.
