Nigeria’s Super Eagles are facing a tough blow ahead of their AFCON 2025 semi-final clash against Morocco.
Captain Wilfred Ndidi has been suspended for the match due to accumulated yellow cards, having received bookings against Mozambique in the round of 16 and Algeria in the quarter-final.
Ndidi’s absence will be a significant loss for the team, given his leadership and influence in midfield.
Coach Eric Chelle is expected to deploy Raphael Onyedika as his replacement, while Victor Osimhen will take on the captain’s role for the semi-final.
On a positive note, goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is not suspended, as CAF rules state that group-stage cards don’t carry into the knockouts and bookings reset after the quarter-final.
