    MWUN & NPA: Building Bridges in Maritime Sector

    The Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) led by President-General Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, paid a courtesy visit to Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Managing Director Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho and his team in Lagos.

    The meet-up aimed to strengthen ties between the union and NPA, partner in driving Nigeria’s maritime growth.

    Comrade Bunu highlighted the importance of collaboration, saying the visit by MWUN executives is to congratulate Dr. Dantsoho on Nigeria’s recent IMO category ‘C’ seat win, a “laudable feat” for the sector

    According to the press release by the head of Media, MWUN, Mr Kennedy Ikemefuna, The visit was to familiarize the recently elected executive officers of the Union to Dr. Dantsoho and his Executives. The President-General of the Union, Comrade Bunu, says the visit was necessary so as to aqcaint ourselves with each other as the Union and the Ports Authority are partners in progress in the maritme sector; hence, both organizations cannot work in isolation.

    The foremost Maritme Labour leader in the country, Comrade Bunu says the visit afforded the MWUN Executives the opportunity to extend their felicitations to the MD of the Ports Authority over the International Maritime Organization (IMO) category ‘C’ seat recently won for Nigeria by the the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Honourable Adegboyega Oyetola.

    Com Bunu described the feat achieved for Nigeria and the Maritme sector as laudable and a giant one, saying it’s a bold and fruitful step that has been achieved so far for the progress and advancement of Nigeria’s Maritme Industry.

    Dr. Dantsoho thanked the PG of MWUN and his team assuring him of a continual work synergy in the sector, so as to make the country’s maritme industry a hub of activities both locally and globally.
