    Muscle, Medals, Mastery: World Champion Club Tops Nationals Ahead of Africa Campaign

    With a total of 19 gold, 15 silver and 4 bronze medals, the World Champion Arm-Wrestling Club of Lagos at the weekend won 19 gold 15 silver and 4 bronze medals totalling 38 medals to emerge Champions of the 2026 National Arm-Wrestlingchampionship held at the CMS Grammar School, Bariga, Lagos.
    Team Oyo came second with 10 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze to claim 18 medals while the third position went to team Delta that had 10 gold, 5 Silver and 6 bronze making 21 medals.The fourth position went to team Inspector General of Police (IGP), Abuja with 16 medals (7 gold, 7 silver and 2 bronze ) leaving team Bayelsa in the 5th position with 14 medals made up of 7 gold, 4 Silver and 3 bronze.
    Team Spaco Warriors from Imo State to picked 8 medals ( 7 gold and 1 bronze) that accounted for their 6th position placing on the overall medal table out of the 20 teams drawn from across the country that took part in the three-day energy sapping muscle testing exercise aimed at selecting Nigeria team for the African championship slated for Ghana this year ahead of the Continental showdown in Egypt.Speaking at the end of hostilities, President of the Nigeria Arm-Wrestling Federation, Engr. Jackson Samuel, expressed his satisfaction on the outcome of the event. He commended all those who contributed in the overall success of the programme especially the Vice President, Navy Commodore Mayowa Olukoya, the referees, technical and officiating official, the media and more importantly the athletes that travelled all the way from various state to honour the championship.

    Engr.Jackson Samuel also spoke on the need for well meaning iNigetians and corporate organizations alike to support Arw-Wrestling sports in Nigeria.
    According to him, Nigeria has not taken her rightful position in global Arm-Wrestling.
    ” As a strong force, Nigeria has the capacity of rulling the world in Arm-Wresting if given the needed support and encouragement.

    The manpower and energy is already there, the President stressed”.
