AC Milan are targeting FC Midtjylland winger Gustav Tang Isaksen after failing to make a breakthrough in their bid to sign Samuel Chukwueze from Villarreal.
Villarreal are looking to sell Chukwueze for around €30m.
AC Milan however value the Nigeria international around €25m.
The winger has one year left on his contract and will become a free agent next summer.
Chukwueze is also a non-EU player, and Milan only have one spot left in the squad for someone without a European Union passport, having already signed Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea.
