The 5th edition of the Michael and Felicia Alabi Memorial Table Tennis Festival that ended over the weekend at Otan Aiyegbaju, Osun State has been hailed as the best table tennis tournament in Nigeria in recent times owing to the high standard.

The tournament director, Ezekiel Oluwafemi made the call in his reaction to the press after the one week event, held from 27th April to 2nd May, 2025, at the newly built Idera Multipurpose Hall, stressing that the festival exceeded expectations, showcasing exceptional organization, keen competition, and good sportsmanship spirit.

Oluwafemi, further attributed the festival’s success to its comprehensive approach, ensuring a memorable experience for players, coaches, and audiences. “From accommodation to welfare, logistics to entertainment, every necessary department is meticulously taken care of,” he said.

He however, praised the organizers’ tireless efforts and the Alabi family’s continued support and sponsorship. “The festival’s success is a testament to their dedication and commitment to excellence,” he added.

The tournament, according to him, has become a benchmark for other table tennis events in Nigeria, featuring top-notch competition, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. Participants and spectators alike have praised the festival’s atmosphere, making it a must-attend event for table tennis enthusiasts.

Ezekiel however, expressed gratitude to everyone involved, particularly the Alabi family, organizers, volunteers, players, coaches, and officials. “Your dedication and hard work have paid off, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for this tournament,” he said.

The Michael and Felicia Alabi Memorial Table Tennis Festival has solidified its position as a premier table tennis event in Nigeria, and its reputation continues to grow.
