After the departure of legendary Luca Modrić France captain, Kylian Mbappé will wear the number 10 shirt at Real Madrid next season.
as replacement of club’s legend Luka Modrić, who is now with AC Milan earlier this summer after CWC. Radio Marca reported it first and was confirmed by L’Équipe on Monday evening.
The French captain had worn the No.9 since arriving from Paris Saint-Germain in July 2024. Despite scoring 44 goals across all competitions in his debut campaign with Los Blancos, Mbappé will now swap numbers to align with his traditional shirt for Les Bleus. [allsoccer]
According to L’Équipe, Mbappé did not initiate the move for the new number nor did he requested for it, rather, the decision was made by the club, whose initial plan was to give him the No.10 jersey upon his arrival. Besides, Real Madrid are positively aware aware of the commercial attention and productivity of the iconic number for a unique striker.
