Lautaro Martinez has become the fifth striker able to score more than 20 goals in three consecutive Serie A campaigns in the last 65 years, joining Gabriel Batistuta, Antonio Di Natale, Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo.

El Toro is Serie A’s current leading scorer with 22 goals in 23 league games and his brace against Lecce helped the Nerazzurri secure a 4-0 victory at the Stadio Via Del Mare on Sunday.

Lautaro hasn’t only reached 101 goals in Itly’s top flight but has become the fifth striker in the last 65 years to score more than 20 goals in three consecutive Serie A seasons.

As reported by Opta on X, formerly Twitter, only Batistuta, Di Natale, Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo have achieved the same in recent history.

Di Natale did it in four consecutive seasons at Udinese, from 2009-10 to 2012-13. Lautaro has scored more than 21 goals in a single Serie A campaign for the first time in his career as he managed 21 in both 2021-22 and 2022-23.
