The Athletic are reporting that Olympique de Marseille have reached an agreement with Watford for the signing of Ismaïla Sarr (25).
As initially reported by Fabrizio Romano and confirmed by L’Équipe, Les Phocéens have made advances to further strengthen their forward line following the arrival of Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang on a free transfer. L’Équipe reported that TAS’ ruling on the Pape Gueye may make a deal difficult, but that hasn’t proved to be the case, according to The Athletic.
According to the anglophone publication, an agreement between the two clubs over the transfer has been reached. Personal terms between Marseille and Sarr are already in place and a medical is scheduled to take place on Monday. Sarr’s playing style is seen as a perfect match for new Marseille manager Marcelino, who replaced Igor Tudor earlier this summer.
The value of the transfer is yet to be revealed, but it was reported by L’Équipe on Saturday that the fee may be around €12m for the player who has just one year remaining on his deal at Watford.
