Manchester City Agree Terms With Gvardiol

Coming off a Treble-winning campaign, in which they finally lifted the Champions League, Manchester City are in the hunt for RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol. Although Real Madrid have been linked with plenty of big names in recent times. They have gotten a deal done for Jude Bellingham already and more could follow, even as Gvardiol is one of the names they are considering.

The Croatian was arguably the best defender at the 2022 World Cup and is considered by many as the best young centre-back in the game today.

Thus, it is not hard to see why Real Madrid might be interested in signing him, with many of their centre-backs 30 years of age or older. But it looks like it is Manchester City, who are making progress in a deal for Gvardiol.

As tweeted out by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City have now agreed personal terms with Gvardiol. Talks will take place between the clubs and RB Leipzig won’t let him go for less than €100 million.

Real Madrid will know Gvardiol well, having come up against RB Leipzig in the Champions League last season. He even scored against Los Blancos in the away game in Germany.

It is hard to see them making a move for Gvardiol this summer though. As a result, that could open the door for Manchester City to swoop in and get it over the line, making their already incredible squad even stronger as a result.
