Head coach Justine Madugu has called up captain Rasheedat Ajibade, keeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, and veteran striker Asisat Oshoala for Nigeria’s two friendlies against Senegal.
He’s also brought back experienced midfielder Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene plus forwards Francisca Ordega and Gift Monday. Two new faces get a shot too: Belarus-based Blessing Nkor and Turkey-based midfielder Kafayat Shittu.
The squad mixes home and abroad talent. Home-based keeper Anderline Mgbechi makes it, alongside England’s Rofiat Imuran, Israel-based defender Sikiratu Isah, Tosin Demehin, midfielders Halimatu Ayinde and Toni Payne, and forwards Folashade Ijamilusi and Joy Omewa.
Also in: Christy Ucheibe, Shukurat Oladipo, and Rinsola Babajide — all title winners with their clubs last season.
Nigeria host Senegal on Friday June 5, then again Monday June 8. Both games are at Remo Stars Sports Complex, Ikenne-Remo.
The friendlies are warm-ups for AFCON. Senegal are in Group A with Morocco, Algeria, and Kenya. 10-time champs Nigeria land in Group C with Egypt, Zambia, and first-timers Malawi. The tournament runs July 25 to August 16.
