    Life In A Proud Castle

Once, there lived a little girl who had everything humanly possible at her beck and call. Her parents were so rich, they lived in a castle. She was so proud to everyone including her parents. She had maids which she relegated so much, believing they could not do without her parents’ wealth and they had to survive being maids and servants.

One day, a male servant asked the little girl’s father for leave to see his ailing father in his hometown, nearly two miles from the castle, the rich man refused saying – who will replace him while he was away, he felt bad not because his request was turned down but because he had not seen his father for more than two years, he had been sick for two months and still his request ungranted.
Two days after his appeal for leave, he received a call from his younger sister that “Dad is dead” her voice mingled with sobbing, so hard that her pain could be felt, He had wanted to see him badly. He cried so badly, he refused eating for days.
He went to the rich man again and told him his father had passed on, the rich man felt it was not a bad thing for a poor man to die, he told him vividly that he would not grant him his request for leave, the young man felt terribly sad, still he decided to act like all was well.
A day came, the rich man’s daughter became unconscious. The rich man had tried Orthodox treatments so far and she didn’t seem to be getting better, he had called tradomedics, they tried but couldn’t figure out the problem. He then asked his chief servant if he could help out, he referred the rich man to that same servant whom he had turned down his request for leave. This time, the rich man began to beg him to forgive him for his wrong deeds and help his daughter survive. The servant went to pluck some herbs, squeezed the juice into her mouth, she sneezed three times and regained consciousness, the rich man was so happy and called for a feast. The servant then told the rich man that “although you refused me seeing my father who was terribly ill, hmmm, well, I will not pay you with evil anyway. I will still do well to look for the good in you and I trust and know I’ll find it”.
Moral: Forgiveness is never easy but doing it brings peace and fulfilment and never pay evil for evil.
