    A Great King is gone.
    A Footballer is gone.
    A Journalist is gone.
    A Teacher is gone.
    Our father is gone.

After forty-eight years of fatherly, compassionate, and selfless leadership, a unifier of people has passed on, leaving behind a profound void.

De Wheno Aholu Menu Toyi I, the Akran of Badagry, reigned with distinction, purpose, and grace. His reign was marked by the promotion of peace, unity, and socio-economic progress across Badagry and beyond.

Before ascending the throne, the Akran was a gifted footballer, a prolific striker who scored countless goals. He later became a professional teacher, mentoring and grooming hundreds of students who today stand as responsible and impactful pillars in societies across the world.

He was also a distinguished journalist of impeccable record, serving with leading national newspapers including West African Pilot, Daily Sketch, and New Nigeria, where he rose to the esteemed position of a News Editor.

A King among kings, his passing brings to a close a truly remarkable reign of nearly five decades, making him one of the longest-serving traditional rulers in Lagos State and Nigeria.

As an indigene of Badagry, and on behalf of my humble self, the Board Members, and the Congress of the Lagos State Football Association, we extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the Princes, Princesses, and the entire Kingdom of Badagry.

Though our father has departed, his legacy endures. His transition shall usher in another King who will proudly fly the flag of Badagry and continue to serve our people with honour and devotion.
