Starting Thursday February 5 2026, and wrapping up Thursday March 19 2026, The Federal Ministry of Works will fix the crumbling asphalt on the ramp and service lane that links Inner Marina to the bridge, plus the inbound and outbound main carriageway sections. The work kicks off with the service lane, then moves to the main lanes, so drivers will see a phased closure.

Inbound traffic from Inner Marina: From head to the Apongbon under-bridge roundabout, connect to Adeniji Adele Road, continue through Ebute Ero, and use the ramp to Apongbon/Eko Bridge.

Inbound from TBS, Third Mainland Bridge, or Victoria Island: stay on Apongbon Bridge to Eko Bridge.

Outbound from Eko Bridge to Inner Marina: divert via Ebute Ero ramp, Adeniji Adele Road, and the Apongbon under-bridge roundabout.

Outbound to Outer Marina, CMS, Victoria Island, or Third Mainland Bridge: take Ebute Ero ramp to Leventis, then Outer Marina/CMS.

Traffic heading to Inner Marina from the service lane*: ramp down via Chapel Street to the Apongbon under-bridge roundabout.

Commissioner for Transportation Oluwaseun Osiyemi stressed that the closures are needed for safety and that traffic officers will be on-site to guide drivers and keep congestion down. The project aims to stop further deterioration of the bridge, which has been a critical link for Lagos Island commuters for years.
