Lina had walked almost two miles and was thirsty. The weather was scorching hot. She bumped into a stream. She was so happy, she didn’t know what to do. She tried using her palms to scoop some water, they were too small. She looked around to see if she could find a pail or can, there was none close by. She had to bend and scoop the water with her small palms. It was better than nothing at all.

After she had drank some water, she dipped her head in the water, raised it upwards and allowed the water drip slowly down her shoulders with her eyes closed.
She was lost in thoughts. She had run away from school because she was bullied by some senior students who had teased her of her stature. She was petite for her age. At eleven, she looked eight. They had teased her saying “You don’t have to bend to pick something, you could stand and do so”. That was the umpteenth time senior Alice had told her, but she cried like never before.
She suddenly brazed up herself, she remembered the words her mother used to tell her to encourage her, ” the size of anything is nothing but the thinking of anyone is everything , they’ll only mock you because they can’t be like you”. Remembering this, she sped off back to school.
It was lunch time. Many students had left their classrooms and were at the cafeteria, some at the field and some just loitering the hallway. She had just peeped the hallway from the stairs when a senior student shouted, ” Hey Shortie, I know you’re up to no good”. She knew it was Alice, she then quoted her mum’s words to her, some junior students walking passed heard her saying such, they burst into laughter. Alice felt embarrassed, her face was down, she went back to her class. She was shocked Lina could boldly reply her publicly. That put an end to the bullying.
Remember, you can like Lina. Do not let anyone bring you down because of your stature, size, weight or anything about you at all. Let your mindset be ruled by positive thinking, with that you can achieve your goals.
