Inter Intensify Folarin Move Following Lukaku Uncertainty

Inter Milan are ready to accelerate in their attempts to sign striker Folarin Balogun from Arsenal over the coming days.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 22-year-old US international is the Nerazzurri’s main attacking target.

Balogun lis one of Inter’s main targets in attack at this point.

The 22-year-old has fully convinced the Nerazzurri’s directors with his performances on loan for Reims in Ligue 1 last season.

Now, it looks as though everything will come down to whether Arsenal are willing to accept a bid that’s within their price range.

The Nerazzurri are preparing to open up the official talks with Arsenal.

Whilst moving for a striker has not been the priority for Inter in the past few days – the deal for Lazar Samardzic from Udinese has been – it looks to be next on the docket.

Meanwhile, the Yann Sommer situation with Bayern Munich continues to rumble on.

If Inter had expected they’d have their big striker signing done already this month in the form of Romelu Lukaku, that has obviously not been quite the way that things have worked out for them.

There is right around a month left to go in the summer transfer window.

Moreover, the Serie A season starts in three weeks.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri are mindful of the need to get serious about their big attacking signing.

And the Gazzetta confirm that Balogun remains the player who Inter’s directors are determined to go after.

The 22-year-old will not come cheap. But the Nerazzurri would be prepared to invest around €40 million in a move.

That is, not coincidentally, right around the amount that the club had set aside to sign Lukaku.

Therefore, Balogun’s future may well come down to whether or not Arsenal are open to accepting a fee of that size for him.

If the Gunners are willing to do so, then the American will in all likelihood join Inter.
